June, what a cute baby girl. Look at all that dark, dark hair and she looks well filled out! How much did she weight at birth? Enjoy! Enjoy! Nothing in the world better than grandbabies. Enjoy every minute that you are with her! Joann and Jack
Yes, I thought the hair was pretty cute. She weighed 8 pounds and was 21 1/2 inches tall. Thanks, Joann, for sticking with my blog through this sort of low-energy period when I am distracted. June
Are you really 73? I am an 89-year-old man living in a drafty hut in Eastern Mongolia with 17 cats. In my youth I was a contortionist with the circus. And later was a shoe salesman in Des Moines.
Isn't that awful? When I started the blog, I was only 70, and I filled in the birthdate like a good little girl (never having lived in Eastern Mongolia, or done anyting bold except getting married at 19.) I did find it shocking that, as a result, my actual age was displayed, but didn't want to seem vain to myself, so I left it--only to get a fresh shock when it automatically changed to 71, etc. etc. It is perfectly possible that I have a grandchild of this age, since the father is my younger son and he only got married four years ago to a woman more than ten years younger than he is. What's the weather like in Des Moines? Now tell me the names of your cats! After looking at your excellent blog, I must apologize for not having had much poetry (as advertised in the title) in mine lately. I plan to get back there, but not tonight. . . June

Oh June, I am totally vain for leaving off my age and I'm only 44! All is so relative.
ReplyDeleteDes Moines is lovely , sunbathing today!
I named the cats after the first 17 letters in the alphabet.
And June, I wrote really really bad poetry almost exclusively for about 2o years!
